GENERAL GUIDANCE

Please base your transfer plans on three factors:

1. Travelling Time

Private Transfer.

1. Port Douglas <> Airport         75 minutes
2. Palm Cove <> Airport            25 minutes
3. Cairn City <> Airport             20 minutes

Seat-in-Coach Transfer.

1. Port Douglas <> Airport         90 minutes
2. Palm Cove <> Airport            30 minutes
3. Cairn City <> Airport             30 minutes

These travelling times reflect the norm. In peak season (August to January), on busy weekends and in wet weather, times will probably be longer. Traffic accidents and road works will also cause delays.

2. Check-in Requirements

Requirements vary considerably from airline to airline so please check what they expect of you.  Also note that Domestic Flights departing from the Cairns International Terminal have the extended International check-in-time requirements.

3. Personal Circumstances

Preferences vary.  You may have no luggage and choose to get to check-in just before your flight closes closes.

Or you may prefer to arrive at the airport way ahead of time and chill out in a lounge. We have no way of knowing your preference but we are very happy to provide advice on the viability of what you would like to do.

Responsibility ultimately rests with you in establishing a pickup-time that best meets your requirements and which guards against unforeseen circumstances; the majority of which are beyond Exemplar's control.

It is strongly suggested that your Travel Insurance includes your transfers.

Services run from the city to the airport every hour on the hour between 0400 and 1900.

The nominated pickup time is the time of departure from the point most distant from the airport: the harbour end. Pickups closer to the airport may be in the order of 10 minutes later, depending on preceding passengers' punctuality.

From Cairns City

Passengers wishing to travel to Palm Cove and Port Douglas in Seat-in-Coach are welcome to originate their journey in the CITY to AIRPORT transfers. However, these vehicles will usually travel via the airport to embark other north-bound passengers. A change of vehicle may also be required.

The nominated pickup time is the time of departure from the point most distant from the airport: the harbour end. Pickups closer to the airport may be in the order of 10 minutes later, depending on preceding passengers' punctuality.

If you wish to avoide the chance of being delayed going through the airport we recommend you book a private transfer.
